Today’s Run: Week 17, Thursday April 10th at 9:03am
- Miles: 10
- Pace: 7:50
- Route: Suzanne’s 10 miler
- Weather/Other: Sunny and hot in Carmel Valley. Thankfully, Suzanne brought extra water for me. I don’t do well in the heat. We had a good solid run and that was my last longest run of the training cycle. Wow. Literally all downhill in terms of miles to the marathon. I can’t believe this is really happening. I have to trust in my last 17 weeks of training. This is probably the most in shape for a race I’ve ever been, but I always feel like I could do more. More pushups, more hills, lose 2 more pounds. I hate feeling inadequate, impatient; but, I guess you don’t really know if the training you did was too little, too much, or just enough, until you get to race day. And even race day is a crapshoot, weather, transportation, sleep…. a lot of things out of your control, no matter how prepared you are. All of that is enough to drive you mad!
